Free Antivirus Options
If you'd like to save some money, here are seven free antivirus suites, the top four you might consider using: AVG is the one i've used since graduating BCTI(Business Computer Training Institute) in 2004. It has never failed me!

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition: Though it had the lowest detection rate of the top four free antivirus programs with a 98.7 percent detection rate against known malware (Avast, Panda, and Avira finished with rates of 99.1 percent, 99.9 percent, and 99.7 percent, respectively), it handily outperformed Security Essentials (which finished with a detection rate of 97 percent). And though it wasn't as good at completely removing malware as Security Essentials (66.7 percent versus 80 percent), it was the only antivirus to disable 100 percent of detected malware; Security Essentials finished at 93 percent on this measure. AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition also tied Panda Cloud Antivirus for the top rate of blocking brand-new threats, at 85.7 percent, whereas Security Essentials was at 71.4 percent.
Avast Free Antivirus: Avast's freebie provided strong detection of known malware samples, at 99.1 percent. Its rate of completely removing malware (67 percent) fell short of Security Essentials' rate (80 percent) and the two programs delivered matching 93 percent rates for disabling active malware. Avast Free Antivirus did provide better blocking of real-world malware, achieving a 78.6 percent rate, compared to Security Essentials' 71.4 percent.
Panda Cloud Antivirus: This tool provided the second highest protection against known malware samples overall at 99.9 percent, compared to 97 percent by Security Essentials. Though Panda's malware repair percentage was among the lowest in the group of seven, it tied with AVG for the best performance at fully blocking brand-new threats, turning in a rate of 85.7 percent, versus Security Essentials' mark of 71.4 percent.
Avira Free Antivirus: Avira provided the third-highest detection rate (out of seven free antiviruses tested) for spotting known malware samples: 99.7 percent, compared to Security Essentials' rate of 97 percent. Though it scored lower than Security Essentials on AV-Test's remaining detection and repair tests, Avira did provide much faster scanning.

PaperBackSwap.Com(Free Books!)
Angelique wants you to know about PaperBackSwap, the biggest book-swapping site in America. If you're a reader, you know how books can accumulate after you have read them. They pile up and gather dust, and you know you won't read them again. You can try to sell them to used-book stores, but you won't get very much for them, even if they are in perfect condition. PaperBackSwap is a better way!
All you have to do is create an account for FREE, list your books that you are ready to share, and send them out to other members when they are requested. Yes, you pay the postage to send your books out (between 2 and 3 dollars for an average-sized book), BUT you get a Book Credit for sending each book (each Book Credit is good for one book - you can order from any member in the club), AND when you request books for yourself, the senders pay the postage to send those books to you.
It costs nothing to participate, except for postage - there are no membership fees. You even get 2 startup Book Credits free if you are the first account at your household - you can use those credits to order 2 books for yourself, right away!
Give your books a better life - no more languishing on dusty bookshelves! Find new readers for them and get new books for yourself. Send a book, get a book. It's easy and it's free!
You can even print the postage right onto the address label, and mail the book from your outgoing mailbox or any blue mailbox.
Angelique is a good friend to let you in on this! If you do sign up, please use the following link:

Are You Using Dirty Cleaning Supplies to Clean Your House?
Spring has finally sprung, so throw open your windows and let the good times roll. Then gather your cleaning gear, and give it a good going over before tackling your spring cleaning chores. After all, how can grungy supplies really clean your home? Here’s a few ways to keep those tools of the trade in tip-top shape:
•Swish the tips of your broom’s bristles in a bucket of warm water mixed with a tablespoon or two of detergent, then shake it out as you would a paintbrush. Hang the broom up so that the bristles aren’t touching the floor, and let it dry thoroughly.
•Vacuum your dust mop head to get rid of any nesting dust bunnies. Then lightly mist it with this solution: Mix two parts white vinegar and one part vegetable oil in a handheld sprayer. Allow the mop head time to absorb the oil solution before using it.
•If you’ve used a wet/dry vacuum to clean up a particularly bad mess, run a bucketful of warm water and disinfectant detergent through the machine. Empty the reservoir, and give it 5 minutes or so to air out.
•Every time you change a vacuum cleaner’s bag, remove anything caught in the beater bar, then run a comb through the bristles to remove any accumulated string or hair.
•Disinfect buckets with bleach, rubbing them down with alcohol or pine oil cleaner. Damp and dirty buckets are breeding grounds for bacteria, which then get spread around your home, making it dirtier than when you started!

Make-your-own bagged popcorn
Today’s quick tip: No need to waste money on pre-bagged popcorn filled with artificial butter and too much salt. Buy the corn at your local health food store and microwave it in a plain brown paper bag. Healthy and cheap!

Household Uses for Cooking Oil Spray
To dry nail polish quickly, spray wet nails with cooking oil
Discourage swallows. Barn and cliff swallows can be a lot of fun to watch-but not when they set up housekeeping where you'd rather they didn't, like in the eaves of your house or under your front porch. To say a gentle "Please build elsewhere," first remove any nesting material from the spot (as long as it hasn't already been filled with eggs, that is!) Then coat the cubbyhole's surface with cooking oil spray. When the birds try to rebuild the nest, the new material will slide right out.
Make digging easier. Just give your shovel, trowel, or spading fork a spritz of cooking oil spray every now and then. Those blades'll glide through the soil!
De-squeak hinges. They're annoying, all right, but indoors or out, there's a fast, easy solution: Just give the noisy things a shot of cooking oil spray. Ahhh-blessed silence!
Loosen a screw. don't you hate it when you have to struggle....and struggle, to get a stubborn screw or bolt loose? Well, struggle no more! Instead, blast the blasted thing with cooking oil spray, wait a few minutes to let it penetrate, and then have at it. It should come right out..
Lose the Labels.
To remove adhesive labels and tags from plastic or metal surfaces, coat the tag thoroughly with cooking oil spray. Let it sit for 5 minutes or so, then slide it off with a plastic scraper or one of those numerous (but nonfunctional) credit cards that bands send you in the mail.
To get a paper label unstuck from wooden furniture, saturate the paper with coooking oil spray, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, and gently peel it off.
There are probably many more uses for Non-Stick Cooking Spray than the ideas listed here. If you have a use that isn’t mentioned above, please share it with us in comments..

10 Meals Under $2
How much does it cost to make a meal at home? It may be less than you think. We calculated the costs of 10 popular meals at regular prices, not counting coupons. Good news - not only is it possible to make a many favorite meals for $2 per serving, but some meals are closer to $1 each!
There were some surprises. Plain hamburgers buns cost considerably more than a couple slices of bread. On the other hand, at less than 5 cents per serving, peanut butter is practically free! A $1.49 jar of peanut butter holds 36 servings – enough to help keep the most serious penny pinchers in sack lunches for a month. And no surprise: Chips add little nutrition but cost more than the hamburger buns.
Here’s what it takes to make common meals at home:
Egg Salad Sandwhich 1.50
Turkey sandwich with iced tea and a banana 1.94
Fish sticks, French fries, coleslaw, and iced tea 1.94
Lunch salad with cheese, croutons, and chicken 1.89
Hamburger with potato chips and soda 1.89
Bagel and cream cheese, coffee, and grapes 1.75
Chicken enchiladas with cheese, rice, refried beans 1.60
Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup and cucumber 1.54
Chicken salad 1.50
Homemade macaroni and cheese 1.15
Peanut butter sandwich with milk and a banana .78
To lower costs even more, use coupons, buy in bulk and make meals completely from scratch. Those hamburger buns would cost pennies to bake yourself, and they’d be fresher, too. We used a packaged coleslaw kit, canned refried beans, and bagged corn tortillas – all of which could you could make for even less.
Knowing what it costs to prepare a meal at home, even reasonably price restaurant meals look expensive by comparison. You can make a whole meal with coffee for less than it costs to buy coffee at the drive-through. Or you can pack a turkey sandwich that costs less than the tip you’d leave at a restaurant!
Try calculating the cost of some of your favorite meals. It’s encouraging to know how cheaply you can cook when you need to – and how much you’re really saving when you take time to prepare food yourself.
